Good Saturday morning!   Some rain in the area again in the past few days.  We didn't get much here.  Just a few sprinkles.  Enough to cool things a little.  More work done on the canning kitchen this week.

I got the other window installed yesterday.  Will start making screens for the windows now and putting up trim and then the inside.  It won't be long until we will be canning.  The beets are growing, the beans are in bloom, and cabbages are in the head.  Tomatoes are starting to bloom.  I thought they never would start to grow.  The ground didn't warm up until later this year.

Time to do something productive.  In hope everyone has a good and safe weekend.  In the immortal words of no one, "If you can't be careful, name it after me"!

God Bless all--johnnyb

  1. johnnyb - your kitchen is shaping up fabulously! and please stop bragging about beets - i love beets and beet greens - i could eat them with every meal and don't even get started on pickled beets! but i have been here 4 years planting beets, hundreds of beets, and am lucky to see even 4 mature!!! i used to have no problem growing them back in the city but i think they don't like the salt air here. it's driving me crazy!!! but i am glad that your garden sounds like it is taking off - good job! can't wait to see what you do with the inside of the outdoor kitchen!!!

    your friend,

    1. If I could ship some to you I would. Beets are the best When my son visits, we have to put two jars on the table. One for him and one for everyone else.

  2. John,

Beautiful kitchen, can't wait to hear when you use it for the first time.
There's nothing better than a garden coming in, and soon will be harvested. It has taken a while for veggies and fruit to really start growing.

    1. it has been a strange spring for gardening.
