Here we go on to another week of fun and games and what ever may come up, be it good , bad or indifferent. Last week I got the quail house/chicken coop mostly sided. There a couple of corners to finish. Not looking too bad for a bunch of pallets and some old tin siding. Will work on the inside this week.
The garden is coming along ok. We have a good stand of sweet corn coming up. I transplanted the tomatoes and peppers yesterday. The potatoes are doing well. I planted some kohlrabi in amongst the potatoes where there were some empty spots. First planting of beans are in the ground as are the watermelons and cantaloupe. Now if the good Lord is willing and the creek don't rise, we should be just about set.
The weather got a little warm last week. I put the A/C in on Saturday. Good thing. The temperature hit 100 for the first time. Yesterday the high was in the 60's. Today may not even make that.
Our friend from Colorado spent a few days here last week. He came to just relax after spending a hard winter on his boat in the Bahamas. He loves the area here, and could spend all of his time here if he could. He will be back next week turkey hunting. We always look forward to his being here. A good friend for many years.
I hope everyone has a good week, though I know that is not always possible. I guess we have to take what comes our way, buck up to it, and meet it head on.
God Bless the USA, and all who honestly call it home--johnnyb
