Just thinking

We have White Americans,  Black Americans,  African Americans,  Hispanic Americans,  Japanese Americans, Irish Americans, Chinese Americans, Korean Americans , and the list goes on and on and on.  I for one am an American.  Not Swedish American, (my grandfather was a Swedish immigrant).  I am an American and damn proud  of it!  If you want to be an African or Korean or Irish or Hispanic, fine, but go back there and let those of us who want to be American be American.  But I guess if you went back to Africa or Japan and called yourself an American African or American Japanese or whatever, you would be looked down on.  Unless you have dual citizenship--Be one or the other.  Stand up America and be proud!!!!!!

I apologize if I offend anyone.  I don't intend to.  I have had wonderful friends from all nationalities throughout  my life, but they were solid Americans.  Just a burr under my saddle--johnnyb.

  1. Used to be enough people of similar backgrounds and cultural values just claimed to be American and it was enough. Sadly those days are gone because some Eisenstein decided to make laws that promoted some sub-groups over others and totally left another out. Until these laws are removed and erased there will never be a unified American group again.

  2. I have no idea where my ancestors came from and I don't really care. I am pure Southern Redneck born and bred and that is as far back as I care to trace my heritage. If you want to be a hyphenated American you can go back to where you think you came from and be proud of yourself there, in my opinion.

  4. My parents immigrated and studied for their citizenship. They always referred to themselves as American. It never occurred to even call themselves anything else. I am so sick and tired of all this ethnic BS. I hope we are able to get back to where we were, but as long as there is one liberal left it will never happen.
